Ohio Book Signing and Picnic
|
On our way to Bluffton, Ohio we took a short
break in Erie, PA at our favorite truck stop (great food with a
smoking section in the restaurant and reasonable gas prices,
especially compared to New York!), never expecting the great
welcome that await us! Obviously they were having their 10th
anniversary celebration and the parking lot was full of
greeters! Even two radio stations were doing remote
broadcasting! I guess everyone thought Panzer was part of the
"special attractions" as he certainly drew a crowd! |
 |

|
Then it was time to head for the
book signing. But first all of the boys had to meet each other!
Mike took some time out to show Gail how easy it was to handle a
well trained dog! While the crowds started to gather for the
"Intro" (lecture) that I was scheduled to deliver! |
 |
 |
Matt and Panzer were also ready to
meet the crowds. After Gail called the meeting to order, both
did a magnificent job of representing the "essence" of the
Shiloh! |

|
Then it was Mike's turn to demo
the smooth coat variety and talk a little bit more about the
temperament variety that can be expected in this magnificent
breed. |
 |
The crowd was
completely mesmerized, and started asking a lot of questions about these
dogs while the rest of us took a break!

 |
Then it was
time for the big book signing to start! |

 |
Alex was ready to welcome the
crowds while the rest of our group played the ambassador part
and chose to mingle with the library folks that kept asking
about these dogs! |
By
late afternoon everyone was tired and hungry so we all headed over to
Gail's house for the big picnic extravaganza that was followed by a very
productive chapter formation meeting!
The beautiful pond was
very inviting for kids and dogs alike so they all went for a quick swim
first!

|
While the adults chose to take
this time to prepare for the upcoming meeting. More photos
may be viewed via Gail's web page and Sue's photos.
|
 |
After our magnificent
feast and very productive meeting were concluded, everyone moved out to
the pond deck in order to relax, talk genetics and deal with temperament
testing and show handling tips! What a way to finish off a great day!
